Elmo takes a swim.

hmmm... it might be time to focus a little less on the play and more on the actual using of the potty...

Growing so fast...

I am amazed at how fast my two little peanuts are growing. Gabriel is now 2 months old and Molly is quickly approaching two! It is funny, because it is the littlest changes that are the most exciting for me...I guess it is because I am finally home to see it all! For example...

Molly has mastered the spoon! This is a big deal because she really wants to eat only with utensils. She had this whole yogurt WITHOUT a bib on and did not spill at all!!! That is amazing! I was so proud of her!

Gabe has now become comfy and is adopting new friends...i.e. Molly's best friend George. Just like a little brother to try to steal his sister's friends!

Molly seemed okay with Gabe and George's newfound friendship...she has been a little preoccupied... after all, she has a boyfriend now...Garrett is her main crunch these days...

I know that Molly is growing up because she now can name so many body parts. Garrett was very kind and let Molly poke at his face. Such a sweet boyfriend- she just can't keep her hands off of him!

Gabriel and Molly both now play games. Gabe has mastered the staring contests. It is really incredible...he can go forever without blinking!

Molly prefers the more hands on games...

And then there is the independence. Molly actually climbed all the way up the slide and down all by herself. I don't even have to stand next to her at all! Such a big girl.

It is really incredible to see such changes in just a short time! I love that I get to be a part of the everyday growing of Gabriel and Molly. But don't get me wrong... If I could keep the snuggle bug...

I need Mommy to make it all better...

phase forever... than that would be completely fine by me!!!

Sunshine after the rain...

So as I was laying down to sleep this early morning- I began to think about the events of the previous day... that long crazy day that made me want to take a trip to Bermuda - by myself. After finishing feeding my precious baby boy I looked down at his sweet sleeping face and realized this great thing. Our jobs as parents are to raise and nurture and love these perfect little people. The funny thing is that so much in life we learn from our children. For example...

In hard times, I am reminded that we are mighty in spirit and young at heart...
How it is okay to have your cake and eat it too...despite what you have been told...

And just how it is important to take a pause and look at the world in a new light... the change of scene could do you good - you may see something that could change your whole view of life...

Children get this... how do we forget this as adults.

Oh- and a poison berry update. No seizures or vomiting... Molly's belly has survived being berrilicious!

Well that's a load of Crocs and Berries...

Today. Today was one of those days where you just sort of stare in to space for like 10 minutes without realizing you are doing this after the kids go down...It is that after an incredible workout feeling...even though there was no true exercise involved. I think it is really part fatigue maybe, part escape- perhaps... mostly just a brain break...

Let me take you to where it all begins. Payless. It is BOGO time at Payless right now. This is where I have decided that Molly's shoes are going to come from for a while because her feet appear to be growing at some mutant speed... she grew 2 shoe sizes in just a month...how does that happen? Anyways, yesterday we ventured to Payless to get shoes. In the children's defense...I did push it close to lunch and nap time... I digress...For those of you that don't know, shoes are in Molly's top 5 favorites along with dancing, meatballs, bows and Elmo. Taking this girl to a shoe store is just about her little heaven on earth. Instantly, we walk in and she starts laughing and dancing...it really is the cutest thing you have ever seen. This turns into running up to all the shoes saying. "oooh pretty.." -still adorable. Then we pick out shoes...Molly is SO EXCITED! We carry them to the register dancing the whole way! Hooray for new shoes. The shoes are ours... coming home with us... walking out the door... and then Molly spots them. THE PAIR OF SHOES. Light up Disney princess flip flops...flip flops with no backs on them that are totally inappropriate for a 20 month old because they would fall off all day long... of course, you really can't explain this to a 20 month old...especially my 20 month old. So as I am waving her new light up shoes in front of her and enticing her to leave the tears begin. This turns into a full fledged, on the ground kicking feet tantrum. At this point, Gabriel remembers that he is hungry and wakes up to join in Molly's tears. I look at the sales lady and she gives me this look of, "Thank God I am too cool to ever have children". So I am forced to Hercules style my children out of Payless thinking the whole time- "Thank God I went to the Ghetto Payless instead of the fancy super target one." Not so much fun...

So after telling this to my mom ,being the wonderful Nonnie she is, she goes out and purchases Molly some Crocs (well fake crocs but still...) I show them to Molly and it is love at first sight. This is the first pair of shoes that she can put on herself. Instantly her Crocs are her new favorite thing. So we wear them all morning time. Then at nap time, Molly decides that she is going to sleep in her crocs. There is nothing I can do to convince her to take them off. So there she is sound asleep, bottom launched in the air and her little pink Croc feet sticking out from her blanket-too bad I didn't get a picture. After nap, Molly and the crocs decide that they would like to play outside. So we head out back. After traveling around the yard to pick up rocks and put them in a cup, I turn around just in time to see her stuff "4 poison berries" in her mouth and eat them. Who would have thought that I would be talking to the poison control people about what kind of plant life I have in my back yard. So the rest of the evening was spent watching Molly waiting for the seizure and throwing up that "could happen in the next 3 hours..."

Needlesstosay, my night has called for a glass of wine and a bubble bath followed by a long 2 hour sleep between feedings. Fun times. How can someone this adorable and sweet be so crazy and busy ALL THE TIME!

"Hathead Kids"

You might read my title and find yourself asking...what is a hathead? Well, my friend- wonder no more. A hathead is just simply a wearer of hats. In fact, to break it down a little further...a hathead is a person who chooses to wear hats quite frequently and looks pretty dang good in them. I have been a hathead my since early childhood. Many a times my siblings and I would run around with underoos on our head calling ourselves pantyclaus. Weird I know...but sadly enough...true. I come from a long family of hatheads... my brothers are hat heads...

I married a hathead...

So it seems pretty simple to assume that we would have hathead children... which we do. So in efforts to try and document the cuteness of my hathead children I went a little picture crazy. My friend Emily, a real photographer, came over to my house on Sunday to take pictures. She sort of inspired me a little to think outside the box and pretend that I know how to take pictures. So, here they are. My hathead kids...

Doesn't Gabriel look like he should be in Newsies?

We love his kissing lips!

It is really unbelievable that I have documented Molly's "I know I just stole my brother's hat- now what are you going to do about it" look.

Anyways... Crazy Hathead Days.

6 weeks already!

Our Little Man is getting so big so fast! I cannot believe that we are already at 6 weeks! Where does the time go? Things have been going great!

Mr. Gabriel still continues to be the most granola baby in the entire world- cross your fingers this stays!!! We are at the age where fussiness is supposed to peak. So far, maybe a little tear here and there but that is it! We will take it! Two weeks ago- Gabriel started in with the smiles. They were really hit or miss and you were lucky to recieve one a day...Now, everytime he makes eye contact with you he gives you this giant open mouth grin! We love it...it makes night time feeds a little difficult because you want to just kiss him back and talk to him- but alas, this would wake him up... nothing beats those morning smiles though! I tried really hard to get Gabe to smile for the camera. The first one is great but then I had the camera off centered. The second is a start of a smile...SO CUTE!

I don't know why Gabe looks so greasy in this picture...I promise I bathe my children!

Things at home have been so fun! We are finally getting settled...we still have a bunch of weekend projects and trips to Home Depot but our home is now very livable... Molly loves her room and had finally decided that Gabriel's room is his...before you would say, "Molly show us your room" and she would take you to Gabe's room first and then hers... our little queen of the castle.

Today, we played outside for 2 hours! I just love our backyard! We tried some tummy time with Gabe but he just loves tummy time so much that he goes to sleep. My little boy is a tummy sleeper...stinky SIDS...you just keep Gabe from having the world's best sleep!

Our mailman finally realized that we have moved...sweet confused old man! So, if you have sent us a package or mail, we are just getting it! Molly has loved all the fun mail- she tries out Gabe's gifts and her own. Today, we received a package from the Peek family. Molly just loves the bows that Julie Peek makes!!! When the package arrived- she started jumping up and down yelling "Bow, Bow, Bow" She then preceded to have me put them all in her hair. If you like adorable affordable bows, you should check out her website.

Molly also loved her Ballerina Zoe from Aunt Melissa...do you know my daughter or what?!?!

Hope that you all had a Happy Thursday...we sure did!
